insulation for attic and interior walls
I have an insullation question for anybody who knows a lot about it.....
I live in an old house and there's a couple things I think I need to insulate. 1 - sound wall bc it's too loud between living room and bedroom... 2 - attic is uninsulated and now that it's getting cold, my bills are huge and it's still cold. The exterior walls are insulated, but none of the attic.
Also, is any insulation bettter than any other? Can I use the same type of insulation for both of those uses?
Thanks

A lot of people seem to use cellulose - but I would definately not use that if I were you. It is basically recycled newspaper that has been soaked in fire-retardant stuff (or something like that), but I have read about houses catching fire because of old wiring heating the stuff up. I have no experience with it personally, so I don't know that for SURE...
I always try to use fiberglass. I don't think fiberglass will help all that much with the sound wall though.
