Similar jobs to construction

What are your thoughts on jobs that are within the same "proximity" of a regular construction job? What I mean by this is... I am a construction worker who is out of work currently and really need a job badly.... but I love construction. Until the construction industry gets back on it's feet, what kind of job can I get in the meantime that will be beneficial to me? Maybe that will even help me once I go back into construction.
Be a Remodeling contractor or work for one.

Thanks for the advice Chris. Others that I talked to recommended that same thing. Since commercial was a no-go, I looked into smaller-scale handyman type contractors, and started there with residential renovations & stuff. I like it a lot and have been doing it for about a year now.
Some family members have rental properties, so I see a lot of opportunity (on the side) with this as well.
I wish you the best...its a tough environment in that industry right now.
